Tennis

The women's tennis team began its season yesterday, hosting The College of New Jersey. They're coming off a respectable (13-4, 4-1 Colonial Athletic Association) record from last year and looking to make it past the CAA quarterfinals this year. As head coach Laura Travis put it, "We're a DI program so we want to win." The Hens lost one of their top players, Amanda Campbell who posted 20-5 singles and 25-2 doubles records, from last year's team, which could set them back. But they also gained freshman Amanda Halstrom. They're off to a good start, winning seven of nine non-scoring matches on Saturday. They play TCNJ again today in non-scoring matches.

While the women's team takes on TCNJ, the men are celebrating the 100th anniversay of men's tennis at the university. The men's tennis roster is not yet set, but they have some time before their first match at the Swarthmore Tournament.
